TimecodeLink is a product of Live Show Systems LLC. It is a desktop application that runs locally on your computer. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what data we collect.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

The TimecodeLink desktop application:

Does NOT send your track names, playlists, or setlists to our servers
Does NOT track your DJ performances or playing habits
Does NOT require an account or login
Does NOT contain advertising or tracking SDKs

Your track mappings, timecode configurations, and show data remain entirely on your local machine.

3. Website Data Collection

When you visit timecodelink.com, we may collect:

Log Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps
Download Analytics: Platform (macOS/Windows), app version, country (derived from IP)
Cookies: Session cookies for basic website functionality

4. How We Use Website Data

We use collected data to:

Monitor website performance and fix technical issues
Understand which platforms to prioritize for development
Detect and prevent abuse or spam
Improve the website experience

5. License & Payment Data

When you purchase a TimecodeLink license, we collect and store:

Email address: Used to generate and deliver your license key, and for license recovery
Order ID: Links your payment to your license for support purposes
License type: Personal or Commercial tier

We do NOT store payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Polar.sh, which acts as the Merchant of Record and handles checkout, tax collection, and refunds.

License emails are sent via Amazon SES.

Your email and license data are retained indefinitely to support license recovery. You may request deletion by contacting [email protected].

6. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party analytics services to understand website usage. These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.

The TimecodeLink application connects to:

Your local network: To communicate with DJ software and hardware (Rekordbox, CDJs)
timecodelink.com: For Serato DJ Pro authentication (proxied via our servers, no personal data stored)
timecodelink.com (license & update check): Once daily on startup, the app contacts our servers to check for software updates and verify your license. It sends: app version, operating system version, CPU architecture, license status (trial or licensed), license key (licensed users only, for server-side validation), DJ software type and version, and the list of output plugins you have enabled (MTC, Art-Net, LTC, OSC, Link). No personally identifiable information (such as email, track names, or playlists) is transmitted.

Each check-in is stored in our database along with your IP address and country (derived from IP) for antifraud purposes — specifically to detect license key abuse. This data is retained for 24 months and then automatically deleted. The legal bases for this processing are contractual necessity (license verification, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interest (antifraud and providing plugin-specific update notifications, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect information transmitted through our website. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.

Since the desktop application stores data locally, security of that data depends on your own computer's security measures.

8. Data Retention

Website log data is retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes. Download statistics may be retained indefinitely in aggregated, non-identifiable form.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request deletion of your personal data
Opt out of analytics tracking (via browser settings or extensions)

TimecodeLink is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
